I got sick with a deep bronchial infection and had to go to the ER. The doctor gave me an antibiotic prescription that would have cost over $100 US. I really needed a much lower price.
The nurse gave me a fantastic resource, the website https://www.goodrx.com/ .
** HOW IT WORKS**
Drug prices vary wildly between pharmacies.
GoodRx finds the lowest prices and discounts by comparing prices for every FDA-approved prescription drug at more than 70,000 US pharmacies
Find free coupons to use at the pharmacy
Shows the lowest price at each pharmacy near you!
What to do:
For each prescription write down the letters and or numbers for the following that shows on the screen:
- Member ID
- Rx Group
- Rx Bin
- Rx PCN
and write down the toll free number, (each prescription has a different one) just in case the pharmacist needs to call. Mine did not. He just typed the info into the system and WOW, I paid $15.45 when the original price was over $100!
